Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of the Situations in Somalia, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Nuur Mohamud Sheekh, by teleconference from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Renifa Magenda, by videoconference from Washington, D.C., made statements and answered questions.

At 4:23 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:24 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Bill Chambers and Kevin Dunbar made statements and answered questions.

At 5:19 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the meeting of Wednesday, November 7, 2018, be cancelled and the witnesses rescheduled to a future date.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of Rules-based International Order, the proposed budget in the amount of $ 72,371.95, for the Committee’s travel to Washington, D.C., United States of America and New York, New York, United States of America in Winter-Spring 2019, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the First Report from the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Thursday, November 1, 2018, and agreed to recommend that the following be presented to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

That, the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted the authority to print from day to day such papers and evidence as may be ordered by them, pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(a).

A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceedings (Meeting No. 126) is tabled

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
