Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h)(vii), the Committee proceeded to a briefing with Equifax Canada.

John Russo made a statement and, with Antonietta Di Napoli, answered questions.

At 5:17 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:20 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, it was agreed, — That, pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, November 30, 2017, and to Standing Order 111.1(1), Nancy Bélanger, nominee for the position of Commissioner of Lobbying of Canada, be invited to appear on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, for one (1) hour in relation to her proposed appointment.

At 5:22 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:23 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h)(vii) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the privacy of Canadians at airports, borders and travelling in the United States.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Protecting Canadians’ Privacy at the U.S. Border ".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12 point font, single line spacing and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, not later than on Friday, December 8, 2017.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

ORDERED, — That the Analyst and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
