Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of a review of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999.

Bob Masterson, Elaine MacDonald and Maggie MacDonald made statements and answered questions.

At 12:41 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of Darren Fisher, it was agreed, — That the committee adopt a proposed budget in the amount of $30,300.00 in relation to the study of a review of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999.

On motion of Nathan Cullen, it was agreed, — That the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

1. That the committee study the Federal Sustainable Development Act including the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy on March 22, 2016 and that witnesses for this meeting be selected by the Chair in consultation with the members of sub-committee on agenda and procedure by email.

2. That members submit prioritised witness lists to the clerk by Friday, March 11th for the following studies: Federal Sustainable Development Act and Strategy, Federal protected areas and conservation objectives, Climate Change, and Review of The Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 .

On motion of Nathan Cullen, it was agreed, — That the discussion on the press release be deferred until after the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development meeting of March 22nd .

At 1:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
