Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee proceeded to the election of a Vice-Chair.

On motion of Mike Bossio, it was agreed, — That Linda Duncan be elected Second Vice-Chair of the Committee.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That Mary Simon be invited to appear as a witness at the meeting on Thursday, September 29, 2016, on the study of Federal Protected Areas and Conservation Objectives.

It was agreed, — That the Department of the Environment and the Department of Health be given up to thirty (30) minutes combined for opening remarks for the meeting on Thursday, October 6, 2016.

At 3:45 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:46 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

It was agreed, — That members submit questions to the Clerk by noon on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, for submission to the departments in preparation for the meeting of Tuesday, October 4, 2016, on Federal Protected Areas and Conservation Objectives.

At 4:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:49 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of federal protected areas and conservation objectives.

Steven Nitah made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:37 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
