The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study on modernization of client service delivery, the proposed budget in the amount of $28,096.90, for the Committee’s travel to Sydney, Nova Scotia and Mississauga, Ontario in Winter - Spring 2017, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the studies on federal government’s initiative to resettle Syrian refugees to Canada, on resettling Yazidi girls and women and on immigration measures for the protection of vulnerable groups, the proposed budget in the amount of $91,700.37, for the Committee’s travel to Jordan, Turkey and Greece in Winter - Spring 2017, be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 27, 2016, the Committee commenced its study on resettling Yazidi girls and women.

Dawn Edlund made a statement and, with Emina Tudakovic, by videoconference from Ankara, Turkey, and Bruce Grundison, answered questions.

At 9:44 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:48 a.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Michael Blume, by videoconference from Stuttgart, Germany, and Jan Ilhan Kizilhan, by videoconference from Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany, made statements and answered questions.

At 10:06 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit for fifteen (15) minutes.

At 10:20 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
