Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 11, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of multiculturalism and international trade.

Thomas Beck, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Michelle Jorge made statements and, with Lucas Pereira and Matthew Correia, answered questions.

At 4:40 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:42 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study on the trade relationship between Canada and countries of the Association of Southeast Nations (ASEAN), the proposed budget in the amount of $222,419.48 for the Committee’s travel to Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia in winter or spring 2018 be adopted; and that the Clerk be authorized to purchase appropriate gifts and make the necessary arrangements for meals and receptions during the Committee's travel.

At 4:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
