The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Phil McColeman moved, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Hon. Lawrence MacAulay to appear on the subject matter of Supplementary Estimates (B) on Monday, April 1, 2019.

On motion of Cathay Wagantall, it was agreed, — That the motion be amended by adding after the words “April 1, 2019,” the following: “or Wednesday, April 3, 2019, and that the meeting be televised”.

After debate, the question was put on the motion, as amended, and it was agreed to.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:

That the Committee invite the Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Hon. Lawrence MacAulay to appear on the subject matter of Supplementary Estimates (B) on Monday, April 1, 2019, or Wednesday, April 3, 2019, and that the meeting be televised.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 9, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of medical cannabis and veterans’ well-being.

Barry Waisglass, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Alan Shackelford made statements and answered questions.

At 5:17 p.m, pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit for two minutes.

At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
