The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met in camera at 8:45 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Braid, Ed Komarnicki, Hoang Mai, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Isabelle Morin, Mike Sullivan, Lawrence Toet, Jeff Watson and Wai Young.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Zachary Alaoui, Analyst; Allison Padova, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, November 18, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the review of the Canadian transportation safety regime: transportation of dangerous goods and safety management systems.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Interim Report on Rail Safety Review".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they do not exceed the length of the report (in Arial 12 point font, single line spacing) and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the Committee, no later than noon on Friday, June 6, 2014.

 

At 10:18 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
