The Standing Committee on National Defence met in camera at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Rick Norlock, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: James Bezan, Corneliu Chisu, Cheryl Gallant, Jack Harris, Jean-François Larose, Élaine Michaud, Joyce Murray, Rick Norlock and John Williamson.

 

Acting Members present: Chungsen Leung for Hon. Peter Kent.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Martin Auger, Analyst; Melissa Radford, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That in relation to its study of the defence of North America, the proposed budget in the amount of $139,322.85, for the Committee’s travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba; Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; and Cambridge Bay, Resolute Bay and Iqaluit, Nunavut, be adopted.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 7, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the care of ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted, and that the Chair, Clerk and analysts, in consultation with Élaine Michaud, Member of Parliament, be authorized to make such grammatical and transliteral changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Caring for Canada's Ill and Injured Military Personnel".

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than ten (10) pages in length and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

 

At 12:13 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
