The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Rodney Weston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ryan Cleary, Patricia Davidson, Randy Kamp, François Lapointe, Ryan Leef, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Robert Sopuck, John Weston and Rodney Weston.

 

Acting Members present: Jack Harris for Robert Chisholm.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dylan Gowans, Analyst; Thai Nguyen, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Newfoundland and Labrador Wildlife Federation: Ward Samson, Past President. Newfoundland Federation of Hunters and Anglers: Barry Fordham, Public Relations Officer. Nova Scotia Salmon Association: Heather Negus, Spokesperson. Sackville Rivers Association: Walter N. Regan, President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, March 3, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of recreational fishing in Canada.
 

Ward Samson, by videoconference from Main Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Barry Fordham, by videoconference from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:10 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Heather Negus and Walter Regan, by videoconference from Halifax, Nova Scotia, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
