The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 268, The Valour Building, the Chair, Rodney Weston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Robert Chisholm, Ryan Cleary, Patricia Davidson, Randy Kamp, François Lapointe, Ryan Leef, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Robert Sopuck, John Weston and Rodney Weston.

 

Acting Members present: Mark Strahl for Ryan Leef.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Thai Nguyen, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Atlantic Salmon Federation: Charles Cusson, Quebec Program Director. New Brunswick Wildlife Federation: Charles LeBlanc, President. Miramichi Salmon Association Inc.: J. W. Bud Bird, Chairman Emeritus; Mark Hambrook, President; Brian Moore, Vice-Chairman. Restigouche River Watershed Management Council Inc.: David LeBlanc, Executive Director.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, March 3, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of recreational fishing in Canada.
 

Charles LeBlanc, by videoconference from Moncton, New Brunswick, and Charles Cusson made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:10 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Brian Moore, Bud Bird and David LeBlanc, by videoconference from Fredericton, New Brunswick, made statements and, with Mark Hambrook, by videoconference from Fredericton, New Brunswick, answered questions.

 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
