The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 8:45 a.m. this day, in Room 306, The Valour Building, the Chair, Harold Albrecht, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Stella Ambler, Dennis Bevington, François Choquette, Megan Anissa Leslie, Hon. John McKay, Robert Sopuck, Lawrence Toet and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Blaine Calkins for Stella Ambler and Parm Gill for Colin Carrie.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst; Tim Williams, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Yukon Fish and Game Association: Gordon Zealand, Executive Director. Alberta Fish and Game Association: Wayne Lowry, President. Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation: Darrell Crabbe, Executive Director.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 19, 2015, the Committee resumed its study of licensed hunting and trapping in Canada.
 

Gordon Zealand, by videoconference from Whitehorse, Yukon, Wayne Lowry, by videoconference from Lethbridge, Alberta, and Darrell Crabbe, by videoconference from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 10:04 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:04 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That the meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2015, be cancelled in order to allow members to attend the funeral of the Honourable Pierre Claude Nolin, and that the clerk reschedule the witnesses for a subsequent meeting.

 

At 10:07 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
