     We'll call this meeting of the immigration committee to order. We're going to have an election for the first vice-president of the committee. The clerk will conduct that election.
    Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the first vice-chair must be a member of the official opposition. I am now prepared to receive motions for the first vice-chair.
    Mr. Menegakis.
    I'm very happy to move a motion to have Madam Blanchette-Lamothe as the first vice-chair of our committee.
    It has been moved by Mr. Menegakis that Madam Blanchette-Lamothe be elected as first vice-chair of the committee
    Are there any further motions?
     I see none. Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?
    Some hon. members: Agreed.
    (Motion agreed to)
    The Clerk: I declare the motion carried and Madam Blanchette-Lamothe duly elected first vice-chair of the committee.
     We're going to adjourn the meeting. We'll continue on Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. with paragraph 50 and if you don't have it already, with the suggestion of Mr. Menegakis' proposed addition.
    This meeting is adjourned.
