The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 8:45 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Gordon Brown, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ray Boughen, Gordon Brown, Hon. Stéphane Dion, Matthew Dubé, Rick Dykstra, Jim Hillyer, Chungsen Leung, Pierre Nantel, Blake Richards and Terence Young.

 

Acting Members present: Pierre Dionne Labelle for François Lapointe.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst. House of Commons: Christine Holke David, Procedural Clerk.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of Canada's Preparations for the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

At 9:03 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:05 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

At 9:33 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:45 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Keep the Momentum Going: Canada's Preparations for the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and Analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

At 10:16 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
