The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 6:31 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Bev Shipley, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ruth Ellen Brosseau, Earl Dreeshen, Hon. Mark Eyking, Pierre Lemieux, LaVar Payne, Francine Raynault, Bev Shipley and Bob Zimmer.

 

Acting Members present: Malcolm Allen for Randall Garrison and Jeff Watson for Randy Hoback.

 

Other Members present: Hon. Ralph Goodale.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst; Khamla Heminthavong, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Pulse Canada: Greg Cherewyk, Chief Operating Officer. Canadian Pacific Railway: Keith E. Creel, President and Chief Operating Officer. Cereals Canada: Cam Dahl, President. Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Friday, March 28, 2014, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-30, An Act to amend the Canada Grain Act and the Canada Transportation Act and to provide for other measures.
 

Brett Halstead and Rick White, by videoconference from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Matt Sawyer, by videoconference from Calgary, Alberta, and Greg Cherewyk made statements and answered questions.

 

At 7:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:33 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Wade Sobkowich and Cam Dahl, by videoconference from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Art Enns made statements and answered questions.

 

At 8:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Claude Mongeau and Keith E. Creel made statements and answered questions.

 

At 9:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
