The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in a televised session at 4:17 p.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Peter Braid, John Carmichael, Cheryl Gallant, Dan Harris, Hon. Mike Lake, Hélène LeBlanc, Phil McColeman, Hon. Geoff Regan, David Sweet and Glenn Thibeault.

Acting Members present: Dan Albas for Mark Warawa, Hon. Laurie Hawn for Cheryl Gallant, François Lapointe for Kennedy Stewart and Robert Sopuck for Phil McColeman.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst ; Dillan Theckedath, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2013-14: Votes 1, 5 and 10 under ATLANTIC CANADA OPPORTUNITIES AGENCY, Votes 1 and 5 under ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF CANADA FOR THE REGIONS OF QUEBEC, Votes 1, 5, 10, L15, L20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100 and 105 under INDUSTRY, and Votes 1 and 5 under WESTERN ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION referred to the Committee on Monday, February 25, 2013.

Minister Paradis and Minister Bernier made statements and answered questions.

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
