The Standing Committee on Health met in camera at 8:46 a.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Joy Smith, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Patrick Brown, Colin Carrie, Libby Davies, Parm Gill, Matthew Kellway, Wladyslaw Lizon, Dany Morin, Djaouida Sellah, Joy Smith and Mark Strahl.

 

Acting Members present: Kirsty Duncan for Hon. Hedy Fry.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Raphaelle Deraspe, Analyst; Sonya Norris, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, October 3, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of chronic diseases related to aging.
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, October 3, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of health promotion and disease prevention.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Chronic Diseases Related to Aging and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention".

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and Analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than twelve (12) pages in length, in the same style and format as the report (Arial 12 point font, single line spacing) and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of the role of government and industry in determining drug supply in Canada.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

At 9:47 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:09 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
