The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Rodney Weston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Robert Chisholm, Patricia Davidson, Fin Donnelly, Randy Kamp, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Robert Sopuck, Jonathan Tremblay, Rodney Weston and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Wayne Easter for Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, José Nunez-Melo for Philip Toone and Blake Richards for John Weston.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Thai Nguyen, Analyst; Tim Williams, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Fisheries and Oceans: Nadia Bouffard, Director General, Fisheries and Aboriginal Policy, Program Policy Sector; Adam Burns, Director, Resource Management, Atlantic Region, Ecosystems and Fisheries Management Sector; Kevin Stringer, Assistant Deputy Minister, Ecosystems and Oceans Science Sector.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 9, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of lobster fishery.
 

Kevin Stringer made a statement and, with Nadia Bouffard and Adam Burns, answered questions.

 

At 12:36 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:39 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
