The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in a televised session at 11:08 a.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Marie-Claude Morin, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Niki Ashton, Joyce Bateman, Joan Crockatt, Anne-Marie Day, Roxanne James, Marie-Claude Morin, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Hon. Judy Sgro and Susan Truppe.

Acting Members present: Bryan Hayes for Wai Young, Irene Mathyssen for Sana Hassainia and Isabelle Morin for Sana Hassainia.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Havi Echenberg, Analyst ; Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst.

Witnesses: As individuals: Lynn Bowes-Sperry, Associate Professor of Management, College of Business, Western New England University; Linda Collinsworth, Associate Professor of Psychology, Millikin University.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of sexual harassment in the federal workplace.

Susan Truppe moved, — That the Committee proceed to sit in camera to discuss Committee Business.

Debate arose thereon.

Roxanne James moved, — That the Committee proceed to sit in camera.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division: YEAS: Stella Ambler, Joyce Bateman, Joan Crockatt, Bryan Hayes, Roxanne James, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Susan Truppe — 7; NAYS: Niki Ashton, Anne-Marie Day, Isabelle Morin, Judy Sgro — 4.

At 11:23 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:27 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That today's witnesses be invited to return before the Committee on Thursday, April 25, 2013.

It was agreed, — That the Committee meeting of Monday, March 25, 2013 be rescheduled for Monday, April 22, 2013.

It was agreed, — That the hearings on the study of sexual harassment in the federal workplace conclude on Thursday, April 25, 2013.

It was agreed, — That the Committee meeting of April 30, 2013, be cancelled.

At 12:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
