The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Tilson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Rick Dykstra, Mylène Freeman, Sadia Groguhé, Roxanne James, Kevin Lamoureux, Chungsen Leung, Costas Menegakis, Ted Opitz, Jinny Jogindera Sims, Rathika Sitsabaiesan and David Tilson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Julie Béchard, Analyst; Sandra Elgersma, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, December 8, 2011, the Committee resumed its study "Standing on Guard for Thee: Ensuring that Canada's Immigration System is Secure".
 
The Committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a report.
 

It was agreed, — That the evidence and documentation received by the Committee specifically in relation to the security of the Canadian Immigration System, during its studies on Bill C-31, C-43 and C-45, be taken into consideration by the Committee in relation to its study “Standing on Guard for Thee: Ensuring that Canada’s Immigration System is Secure”.

 

It was agreed, — That the deadline to submit drafting instructions for the report on the study “Standing on Guard for Thee: Ensuring that Canada’s Immigration System is Secure” be 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee consider the draft report on this study on Thursday, January 31, 2013.

 

At 4:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
