The Standing Committee on International Trade met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Ron Cannan, Don Davies, Hon. Wayne Easter, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Marc-André Morin, Annick Papillon, Jasbir Sandhu, Bev Shipley and Devinder Shory.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Bombardier Inc.: Pierre Seïn Pyun, Vice-President, Government Affairs. NOVO Plastics Inc.: Baljit Sierra, President and Chief Executive Officer. Prudential Consulting Inc.: Vikram Khurana, Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Canada India Foundation: Kalyan Sundaram, Executive Director; Rahul Shastri, National Convenor. Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada: Yuen Pau Woo, President and Chief Executive Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) with India.
 

Pierre Seïn Pyun, Baljit Sierra and Vikram Khurana made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:26 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Rahul Shastri and Yuen Pau Woo made statements and, with Kalyan Sundaram, answered questions.

 

At 5:23 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:25 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) with India, the proposed budget in the amount of $ 27,000 be adopted.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
