The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met at 8:47 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the President, Greg Kerr, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Eve Adams, Rob Anders, Sean Casey, Réjean Genest, Greg Kerr, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, Irene Mathyssen, Annick Papillon, Peter Stoffer and Brian Storseth.

 

Acting Members present: Rick Dykstra for Joe Daniel.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst. House of Commons: Marc-Olivier Girard, Procedural Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Department of Veterans Affairs: Bernard Butler, Director General, Policy and Research Division; Charlotte Stewart, Director General, Service Delivery and Program Management.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 24, 2011, the Committee commenced its review of the delivery of front-line health and wellbeing services for Canadian Veterans.
 

Bernard Butler and Charlotte Stewart made statements and answered questions.

 

At 10:09 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:14 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget of $56,678.40 for the Committee’s travel to Vancouver, Edmonton and Cold Lake from December 11 to 14, 2011, be adopted, provided that the amount may be increased by up to $5,000 by the Chair in consultation with the Clerk in order to increase the number of activities, and that the Chair present this budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

 

At 10:39 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
