The Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security met in camera at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Garry Breitkreuz, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Garry Breitkreuz, Don Davies, Luc Desnoyers, Shelly Glover, Mark Holland, Andrew Kania, Dave MacKenzie, Phil McColeman, Maria Mourani, Rick Norlock, Brent Rathgeber and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lyne Casavant; Tanya Dupuis.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of federal corrections: mental health and addiction.
 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee ask a government response to its First Report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee consider a witness list for Bill C-391, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Firearms Act (repeal of long-gun registry), on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hear the Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime on Thursday, April 22, 2010.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hear witnesses on Contraband Tobacco on Tuesday, April 27, 2010.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hear witnesses on the Passenger Protect Program and the U.S. No-Fly list on Thursday, April 29, 2010.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hear witnesses on Bill C-391 on Tuesday, May 4 and Thursday, May 6, 2010.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hear officials from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and Members of the Security Intelligence Review Committee (SIRC), on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee consider a draft report on Federal Corrections: Mental Health and Addiction on Tuesday, May 25 and Thursday, May 27, 2010.

 

At 5:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
