The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met at 9:02 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Leon Benoit, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, David Anderson, Hon. Navdeep Bains, Leon Benoit, Paule Brunelle, Nathan Cullen, Claude Guimond, Richard M. Harris, Hon. Geoff Regan, Devinder Shory and Alan Tonks.

 

Acting Members present: Cheryl Gallant for Russ Hiebert.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst; Mohamed Zakzouk, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Pembina Institute: Ed Whittingham, Director, Consulting Services. TransAlta Corporation: Don Wharton, Vice-President, Sustainable Development. Saskatchewan Power Corporation: Micheal J. Monea, Vice-President. Capital Power Corporation: Brian Vaasjo, President and Chief Executive Officer. HTC Purenergy Inc.: John Osborne, Business Development and Strategic Alliances. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on March 16, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the Status of ecoENERGY Programs
 

Ed Whittingham, Michael J. Monea and Don Wharton made statements and answered questions.

 

At 10:04 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:09 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Brian Vaasjo, John Osborne and Stephen Kaufman made statements and answered questions.
