The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Joe Preston, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Rodger Cuzner, Claude DeBellefeuille, Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Randy Hoback, Guy Lauzon, Tom Lukiwski, Joe Preston, Marcel Proulx and Scott Reid.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Joseph Volpe for Hon. Marlene Jennings.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Nicolas Auclair, Analyst; Andre Barnes, Analyst; Michel Bédard, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, March 15, 2010, the Committee resumed consideration of the question of privilege relating to mailings sent to the ridings of Mount Royal and Sackville-Eastern Shore.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That two draft reports be adopted and that the Chair or his representative present them to the House.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertakes a study concerning the use of new technologies and their impact on House and committee proceedings.

 

It was agreed, — That the following witnesses: the Speaker and the Clerk of the House of Commons, the Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel and Mr. Louis Bard, be invited to appear in relation to the Committee's study on new technologies and their impact on House and committee proceedings, on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.

 

At 11:37 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
