The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 8:46 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen St., the Chair, the Hon. John McKay, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Diane Bourgeois, Paul Calandra, Blaine Calkins, Siobhan Coady, Jacques Gourde, Ed Holder, Hon. John McKay, Hon. Geoff Regan, Robert Vincent and Chris Warkentin.

Acting Members present: Don Davies for Pat Martin.

Associate Members present: Dave MacKenzie.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Édison Roy-César, Analyst ; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

Witnesses: Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS): Ray Boisvert, Assistant Director Intelligence; Laura Danagher, Chief Financial Officer. Ontario Provincial Police: Tim Charlebois, Planning and Operations Lead, 2010 G8/G20 Summits, Field Support Bureau; Janet Davis, Financial and Administration Lead, 2010 G8/G20 Summits, Field Support Bureau. Royal Canadian Mounted Police: Alphonse MacNeil, Division Operations Commander 2010 of the G8 and G20, Integrated Security Unit; Alain Séguin, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. Canada Border Services Agency: Sylvain St-Laurent, Vice-President, Comptrollership Branch.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(iv) and 108(3)(c)(viii) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 7, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the effectiveness, management and operation of the expenses incurred for the G8/G20 Summits.

Alphonse MacNeil, Ray Boisvert, Sylvain St-Laurent and Tim Charlebois made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 10:46 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:47 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budgets in the amounts of $13,350 and $6,750 be adopted and that the Chair present the said budgets to the Liaison Committee.

At 10:48 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
