The Standing Committee on Health met in a televised session at 9:00 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Joy Smith, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Patrick Brown, Colin Carrie, Patricia Davidson, Nicolas Dufour, Kirsty Duncan, Luc Malo, Cathy McLeod, Joy Smith and Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Larry Bagnell for Joyce Murray, Rob Clarke for Tim Uppal and Stephen Woodworth for Tim Uppal.

 

Associate Members present: Carol Hughes.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Karin Phillips, Analyst; Marie Chia, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Public Health Agency of Canada: David Butler-Jones, Chief Public Health Officer; Mary Chaput, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer (Associate Deputy Minister); James Libbey, Chief Financial Officer. Department of Health: Morris Rosenberg, Deputy Minister; Alfred Tsang, Chief Financial Officer; Michelle Boudreau, Director General, Natural Health Products Directorate; Glenda Yeates, Associate Deputy Minister.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee resumed consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2009-2010: Votes 1c, 5c, 10c, 25c, 40c, 45c and 50c under HEALTH referred to the Committee on Wednesday, March 3, 2010; and
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2010-2011: Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 under HEALTH referred to the Committee on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
