The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met in camera at 12:06 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Jim Abbott, Dean Allison, Johanne Deschamps, Francine Lalonde, Deepak Obhrai, Bernard Patry, Hon. Bob Rae and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

Acting Members present: Blaine Calkins for James Lunney, Hon. John McCallum for Glen Douglas Pearson, John Rafferty for Paul Dewar and Brent Rathgeber for Peter Goldring.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Goody, Analyst; James Lee, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee proceed to sit in public.

 

At 12:06 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

 

At 12:06 p.m., the Committee resumed sitting in public.

 

Bernard Patry moved, — That the following witnesses be invited to appear before the Committee as part of the study on the situation at Rights & Democracy: Suzanne Trépanier on Thursday, March 25, 2010 (2nd hour of the meeting); Gérard Latulippe on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 (1st hour), Razmik Panossian, Charles Vallerand, Marie-France Cloutier and Mika Levesque on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 (2nd hour); Davis Matas, Payam Akhavan and Brad Farquar on Thursday, April 1, 2010.

Debate arose thereon.

 

It was agreed, — That the debate be now adjourned.

 

At 12:53 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
