The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met by videoconference at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, the Hon. Shawn Murphy, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Kelly Block, Paul Calandra, Patricia Davidson, Hon. Wayne Easter, Carole Freeman, Hon. Shawn Murphy, Pierre Poilievre and Bill Siksay.

 

Acting Members present: Megan Anissa Leslie for Bill Siksay and Thierry St-Cyr for Ève-Mary Thaï Thi Lac.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Élise Hurtubise-Loranger, Analyst; Dara Lithwick, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: City of Edmonton: Chris Moore, Chef Information Officer, Information Technology. As an individual: Michael Mulley, Web programmer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h)(vi) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, April 1, 2010, the Committee resumed its study on open government.
 

Michael Mulley made a statement and answered questions.

 

Chris Moore, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 4:53 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

 

At 4:54 p.m., the Committee resumed sitting in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study regarding the nomination of Nigel Wright, the proposed budget in the amount of $2000, for the period of 2010-2011 be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study on open government, the proposed budget in the amount of $39,750, for the period of 2010-2011 be adopted.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h)(vi) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 25, 2010, the Committee resumed its study on Street Imaging Applications (Google, Canpages, etc.).
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
