The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen St., the Chair, the Hon. Michael D. Chong, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Scott Armstrong, Patrick Brown, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Bonnie Crombie, Dean Del Mastro, Carole Lavallée, Roger Pomerleau, Blake Richards, Pablo Rodriguez and Scott Simms.

 

Acting Members present: Rod Bruinooge for Royal Galipeau and Joe Preston for Scott Armstrong.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, the Committee resumed its study on the emerging and digital media: opportunities and challenges.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Emerging and Digital Media: Opportunities and Challenges".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report a supplementary opinion from any member to be submitted electronically to the Clerk of the Committee in both official languages, no later than Wednesday, February 16, 2011.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference after the tabling of the Committee's report to the House and that the Committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.

 

At 5:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
