The Legislative Committee on Bill C-32 met in a televised session at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Gordon Brown, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Leon Benoit, Peter Braid, Gordon Brown, Serge Cardin, Dean Del Mastro, Marc Garneau, Mike Lake, Carole Lavallée, Hon. Dan McTeague, Pablo Rodriguez and Mike Wallace.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dara Lithwick, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Conference of the Arts: Alain Pineau, National Director. Creators' Copyright Coalition: Bill Freeman, Chair; Marvin Dolgay, Vice-Chair, President of Screen Composers Guild of Canada. Canadian Media Production Association: John Barrack, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer; Reynolds Mastin, Counsel.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Friday, November 5, 2010, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-32, An Act to amend the Copyright Act.
 

It was agreed, — That the document, presented by Alain Pineau be taken as read and published in today’s Evidence.

 

Alain Pineau, Bill Freeman and Marvin Dolgay made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:17 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

John Barrack and Reynolds Mastin made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:55 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
