The Legislative Committee on Bill C-32 met in a televised session at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Acting Chair, the Hon. Maxime Bernier, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Hon. Maxime Bernier, Peter Braid, Serge Cardin, Dean Del Mastro, Ed Fast, Mike Lake, Carole Lavallée, Hon. Dan McTeague, Pablo Rodriguez and Francis Scarpaleggia.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: As individuals: Margaret Atwood, Writer; Georges Azzaria, Assistant Dean, Faculty of Law, Laval University of Quebec. CMRRA-SODRAC Inc. (CSI): David A. Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Friday, November 5, 2010, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-32, An Act to amend the Copyright Act.
 

Margaret Atwood, by videoconference from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, David Basskin, Alain Lauzon and Marian Hebb made statements and, with Martin Lavallée and Casey Chisick, answered questions.

 

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Georges Azzaria, by videoconference from Québec, Québec, Annie Morin and Raymond Legault made statements and answered questions.

 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
