The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Merv Tweed, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Dennis Bevington, Lois Brown, Sukh Dhaliwal, Roger Gaudet, Candice Hoeppner, Brian Jean, Gerard Kennedy, Mario Laframboise, Colin Mayes, Merv Tweed, Hon. Joseph Volpe and Jeff Watson.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Padova, Analyst.

Appearing: Hon. John Baird, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities; Hon. Rob Merrifield, Minister of State (Transport).

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2009-2010: Votes 1b, 5b, 10b, 17b, 20b, 35b, 40b, 45b, 50b, 55b, 60b and 65b under TRANSPORT referred to the Committee on Wednesday, November 4, 2009.

The Hon. John Baird and the Hon. Rob Merrifield made statements and, with Yaprak Baltacioglu and John Forster, answered questions.

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:42 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Yaprak Baltacioglu made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
