The Subcommittee on Gifts under the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 10:07 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Scott Reid, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Hon. Marlene Jennings and Scott Reid.

 

Acting Members present: Libby Davies for Chris Charlton and Louis Plamondon for Claude DeBellefeuille.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Bédard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner: Mary Dawson, Commissioner; Lyne Robinson-Dalpé, Assistant Commissioner, Compliance and Advice; Nancy Bélanger, General Counsel.

 
Pursuant to the Committee's order of Tuesday, January 27, 2009, the Subcommittee resumed its study of gifts under the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons.
 

Mary Dawson, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 10:26 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:27 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

The Subcommittee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and Analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee do now adjourn.

 

At 10:41 a.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
