I call the meeting to order and welcome everyone here.
I just want to confirm: is everyone here either a member of Parliament or staff of a member of Parliament?
Okay. The first item of business is the review and approval of the report of the steering committee held yesterday. Those minutes have been circulated. I should point out that circulated also is the upcoming work agenda of the committee, which was discussed at the steering committee. You can see it in front of you.
We're dealing with draft reports.... I'll just take you to the Christmas break and no further.
Next Monday, November 30, we're back on draft reports. Next Wednesday, we have confirmed chapter 7 from the most recent Auditor General's report, “Emergency Management—Public Safety Canada ”; then on Monday, December 7, draft reports; and then on the 9th we're dealing with chapter 8, “Strengthening Aid Effectiveness—Canadian International Development Agency”. Those meetings have all been confirmed, and we seem to be set until the Christmas break.
Also, with that work agenda you'll see some tentative meetings scheduled in late January, February, and even into early March, I believe. Those are more moving targets, and they have not been confirmed as yet, but that's the direction the committee has taken. From the minutes you'll see that we had decided earlier—quite some time ago, actually—to do a review on the performance reports of two of the larger organizations within the Government of Canada. What the steering committee decided to do was pull two out of a hat, rather than get into a debate as to which two we would do, and the two that were pulled from the hat were the Department of Industry and the Department of Transport. So the recommendation coming from the steering committee is that those be scheduled, and I think the clerk is going to try to do that meeting sometime in February.
Is there any discussion on the report of the steering committee?
Its adoption is moved by Mr. Christopherson.
    Is there any discussion?
    (Motion agreed to)
The Chair: Thank you very much.
That was the public part of the meeting. The meeting will now suspend and go in camera. We'll suspend for about 15 seconds.
    [Proceedings continue in camera]
