The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in a televised session at 9:00 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Michael D.Chong, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bouchard, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Siobhan Coady, Marc Garneau, Mike Lake, Brian Scott Masse, Anthony Rota and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

Acting Members present: Peter Braid for Mike Wallace, Royal Galipeau for Chris Warkentin, Martha Hall Findlay for Anthony Rota, Daryl Kramp for Gordon Brown and Mario Laframboise for Robert Vincent.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya, Analyst; Michael Holden, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Friday, August 7, 2009, the Committee commenced its study of the proposed sale of certain Nortel Networks assets.
 

George Riedel made a statement and, with Derrick Tay and Richard Lowe, answered questions.

 

At 10:16 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:29 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Mike Lazaridis made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 11:45 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:16 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Mark Henderson made a statement and, with Michel Peladeau, Paul B. Schabas and Richard F.D. Corley, answered questions.

 

At 1:33 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Richard Dicerni made a statement and, with Marie-Josée Thivierge and Helen McDonald, answered questions.
