The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Kevin Sorenson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Jim Abbott, Lois Brown, Paul Crête, Johanne Deschamps, Paul Dewar, Peter Goldring, James Lunney, Deepak Obhrai, Bernard Patry, Glen Douglas Pearson, Hon. Bob Rae and Kevin Sorenson.

 

Acting Members present: John Rafferty for Paul Dewar.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Jean-Marie David, Committee Clerk. Library of Parliament: James Lee, Analyst; Melissa Radford, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Ekos Research Associates Inc.: Frank Graves, President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 10, 2009, the Committee commenced its study of key elements of Canadian foreign policy.
 

The witness made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 4:42 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

Paul Dewar moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development consider the subject matter of the following reports of the committee from the Second Session of the 39th Parliament and present them to the House of Commons: the sixth report of the Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility and the seventh report of the Committee on Omar Khadr.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

 

At 5:11 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
