The Standing Committee on International Trade met by videoconference from Medellin, Colombia at 11:36 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Lee Richardson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Scott Brison, Ron Cannan, John Cannis, Serge Cardin, Richard M. Harris, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Lee Richardson and Mario Silva.

 

Acting Members present: Malcolm Allen for Peter Julian, Paule Brunelle for Claude Guimond and Joy Smith for Dean Allison.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Holden, Analyst; Jennifer Paul, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Industry Union of Professional Employees of the Public Utilities: Walter Navarro, President. Empaques S.A. Workers Union: Germán Restrepo, President. Clothing and Textile Industry Union: Luis Fernando Cadavid, President. Rionegro Section, SINTRACONTEXA Union: Gerardo Sánchez, President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted on Thursday March 12, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of Canada-South America Trade Relations (Canada-Colombia).
 

Walter Navarro made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

On motion of Ron Cannan, it was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee conduct a study on the Canada-Jordan Free Trade Agreement.

 

At 12:53 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
