| December 3, 2008 — Mr. Duceppe (Laurier—Sainte-Marie) — That, in light of the Conservatives' failure to put forward concrete measures to address the economic and financial crisis and given that a viable alternative to the government exists in the House of Commons and that this alternative would allow Quebec to make very significant gains, notably in terms of a support plan for the manufacturing and forestry industries, the restoration of funding for economic development agencies and cultural programs, the acceleration of existing infrastructure programs and the provision of new funding for this industry, the creation of a housing renovation and construction program, the implementation of a real income support program for older workers, the elimination of the employment insurance waiting period and the use of employment insurance premiums solely for workers, the creation of a carbon exchange with fixed greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, using 1990 as the reference year, and help for families with the right to opt out with full compensation for Quebec, consequently, the House has lost confidence in the government. |
