MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 2

Thursday, March 13, 2008

The Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in camera at 11:27 this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, James Bezan, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present: Alex Atamanenko, André Bellavance and James Bezan.

Acting Members present: Hon. Wayne Easter for Paul Steckle.

In attendance: Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food: Jean-Denis Fréchette ; Mathieu Frigon.

The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Subcommittee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a draft budget respecting the Committee’s proposed travel to Geneva, Paris, and Brussels for consideration by the Sub-Committee providing that the said budget include 1 representative per party, the Chair, one analyst, two interpreters and one clerk related to its study of WTO issues.

It was agreed, — That six or seven meetings be necessary for the Committee's study of “Product of Canada” and that witnesses from Industry Canada be the first witnesses to appear and other neccesary Government Officials at the last meeting.

It was agreed, — That an updated Spring 2008 calendar be sent to all members of the Committee.

At 12:22 , the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
