The Standing Committee on National Defence met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Rick Casson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Dawn Black, Steven Blaney, Robert Bouchard, Rick Casson, Cheryl Gallant, Laurie Hawn, James Lunney, Hon. Joe McGuire and Anthony Rota.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Cox, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of National Defence: MGen D.C. Tabbernor, Chief, Reserves and Cadets; Cmdre J. Bennett, Commander, Naval Reserve; BGen G.J.P. O'Brien, Director General, Land Reserve; BGen E.B. Thuen, Director General, Air Reserve.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of health services provided to Canadian Forces personnel with an emphasis on post-traumatic stress disorder.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:47 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:51 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, in consultation with the Committee Staff, send a letter to the Chair of the Special Committee on the Canadian Mission in Afghanistan regarding the Standing Committee on National Defence's travel to Afghanistan.

 

At 4:55 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
