The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 4:04 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Norman Doyle, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua, Robert Carrier, Olivia Chow, Norman Doyle, Nina Grewal, Hon. Jim Karygiannis, Wajid Khan, Ed Komarnicki, Thierry St-Cyr and Hon. Andrew Telegdi.

 

Acting Members present: Yasmin Ratansi for Colleen Beaumier.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst; Sandra Elgersma, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Sixth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be adopted:

That the Committee use the balance of the meeting on Wednesday, June 4, to consider the draft report on immigration consultants with a view to its adoption in a form that would be presentable in the House;

That the Committee consider a preliminary summary of issues and instruct the analysts on the drafting of a report concerning undocumented workers and temporary foreign workers on Monday, June 9;

That the Committee meet to consider outstanding notices of motion on Wednesday, June 11; and

That the Committee invite the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to appear at his earliest convenience and, subsequent to that, consider interim recommendations for a report on Iraqi refugees.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, December 11, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of Immigration Consultants.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

At 5:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
