The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:09 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Gary Goodyear, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Yvon Godin, Gary Goodyear, Michel Guimond, Tom Lukiwski, Hon. Stephen Owen, Pauline Picard, Joe Preston, Hon. Karen Redman and Scott Reid.

 

Acting Members present: Bonnie Brown for Hon. Stephen Owen, Bonnie Brown for Hon. Lucienne Robillard, Hon. Dominic LeBlanc for Marcel Proulx, John Maloney for Hon. Lucienne Robillard, Louis Plamondon for Michel Guimond and Chris Warkentin for Hon. Jay Hill.

 

Other Members present: Paul Szabo.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Principal; Michel Bédard, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 92, the Committee resumed consideration of matters relating to Private Members' Business regarding Bill C-415, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (replacement workers).
 

Joe Preston moved, — That the Second Report of the Subcommittee on Private Members` Business be concurred in.

Debate arose thereon.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived.

 

Accordingly, pursuant to Standing Order 92(3)(b), the Committee hereby reports that it does not concur in the Second Report of the Subcommittee on Private Members’ Business, and is of the opinion that Bill C-415, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code (replacement workers), should remain votable and orders that the Chair report the same to the House.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 12:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
