    Honourable members, I see a quorum. We can now proceed with the election of the chair. I am ready to receive motions to that effect.
    Ms. Gallant.

The Clerk:
    It has been moved by Mrs. Gallant that Rick Casson be elected as chair of the committee.

[Translation]

    Are there any other nominations?

    The committee has heard the motion.
    Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?
    (Motion agreed to)
The Clerk:
    I declare the motion carried and Rick Casson duly elected chair of the committee.

    We can now proceed with the election of the first vice-chair.

    Are there any motions to that effect?
    Mr. Dosanjh.
Hon. Ujjal Dosanjh (Vancouver South, Lib.):
    I nominate John Cannis.

[Translation]

The Clerk:
    Are there any other nominations?

    It has been moved by Mr. Dosanjh that John Cannis be elected as first vice-chair of the committee.
    Is it the pleasure of the committee to adopt the motion?
    (Motion agreed to)

    We proceed now with the election of the second vice-chair. I am ready to receive motions to that effect.
    Mr. Bouchard.
Mr. Robert Bouchard (Chicoutimi—Le Fjord, BQ):
    I nominate Mr. Claude Bachand.
The Clerk:
    Are there any other nominations?
    It is proposed by Mr. Bouchard that Claude Bachand be elected vice-chair of this committee.

    I now invite Mr. Casson to take the chair.

    Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.
    This is meeting 11. I guess the process we need to go through is to adjourn this meeting and take five minutes to make the transition over to meeting 12. We'll then hear from our witnesses, one in Calgary and one here--amazing technology.
    We'll call that meeting to order once we have everything in place with the translation and the technology.
    Meeting 11 is adjourned.
