The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Brian Pallister, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Dean Del Mastro, Rick Dykstra, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. John McKay, Massimo Pacetti, Brian Pallister, Michael Savage and Hon. Garth Turner.

Acting Members present: Robert Bouchard for Yvan Loubier, Robert Carrier for Thierry St-Cyr and David Christopherson for Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Philippe Bergevin, Analyst ; Alexandre Laurin, Analyst . Standing Committee on Finance: Shaila Anwar, Co-Clerk of the Committee.

Witnesses: Canada Revenue Agency: William V. Baker, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer; Michel Dorais, Commissioner; Lysanne Gauvin, Assistant Commissioner, Human Resources Branch; Stephen O'Connor, Assistant Commissioner, Corporate Strategies and Business Development Branch; James Ralston, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Commissioner, Finance and Administration Branch. Certified General Accountants Association of Canada: Everett E. Colby, Chair, Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee; Carole Presseault, Vice-President, Government and Regulatory Affairs.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and section 89 of the Canada Revenue Agency Act, the Committee resumed the study of the first five years of the Statutory review of the Act.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 5:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
