The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in camera at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Joy Smith, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Patricia Davidson, Nicole Demers, Johanne Deschamps, Nina Grewal, Joy Smith and Bruce Stanton.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Larry Bagnell for Hon. Maria Minna, Bonnie Brown for Yasmin Ratansi, Chris Charlton for Irene Mathyssen, Susan Kadis for Hon. Anita Neville and Glen Douglas Pearson for Hon. Belinda Stronach.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lyne Casavant, Analyst; Clara Morgan, Analyst; Nathalie Pothier, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 30th, 2006, the Committee resumed its study of economic security of women.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That dissenting opinions be appended to the report and that they be submitted to the Clerk of the Committee no later than Wednesday June 13, 2007, at noon, and that they be no longer than two pages in length.

 

At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
