The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met in camera at 9:08 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Rob Anders, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Rodger Cuzner, Roger Gaudet, Hon. Albina Guarnieri, Betty Hinton, Gilles-A. Perron, Bev Shipley, Brent St. Denis, Peter Stoffer and David Sweet.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, May 16 2006, the Committee resumed its study on the Veterans Independence Programme and Health Care Review.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report , as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: Support for Veterans and Other Victimes of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Other Operational Stress Injuries.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the following witnesses: Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS): Kenneth Henderson, Dominion President; Canadian Association for Veterans of United Nations Peacekeeping (CAVUNP): Douglas Townsend, National Vice-President; The War Amps: Clifford H. Chadderton, Chief Executive Officer; representatives from the Canadian Peacekeeping Veterans Association (CPVA) and Gulf War Veterans Association of Canada, be invited to appear in relation to the study on Veterans Independence Programme and Health Care Review.

 

It was agreed, — That the following witness: National Service Bureau, The War Amputations of Canada: Jean McMillan, Assistant Director Administration, be invited to appear on Thursday June 14, 2007 in relation to the study on Veterans Independence Programme and Health Care Review.

 

At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
