The Subcommitee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee of the Status of Women met in camera at 10:23 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Chair, Anita Neville, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Paule Brunelle, Jean Crowder, Nina Grewal and Anita Neville.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Julie Cool, Analyst.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the committee's analyst prepare an analysis of the evidence given during the Roundtables.

 

It was agreed, — That the committee's analyst prepare an analysis of the core-funding vs. project-funding issue, and that the appropriate officials from Status of Women Canada be invited to prepare a brief and to appear before the Committee to comment on their experiences with these approaches.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hold a meeting to discuss Canadian preparations for Beijing + 10, and investigate how the Committee could play a role in the February-March 2005 event.

 

It was agreed, — That the committee's analyst prepare a document outlining the history of government-wide initiatives (such as employment equity and official languages) and describing how departments are required to report on the implementation of these initiatives.

 

It was agreed, — That several Ministers be invited to appear before the Committee to discuss the current state of Gender-Based Analysis (GBA) in terms of implementation within their respective Departments.

 

It was agreed, — That a work plan be developed based on the aforementioned decisions, and that the Committee hold a meeting with women's and/or equality-seeking organizations to receive feedback.

 

At 10:53 a.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
