The Standing Committee on Official Languages met at 8:34 this day, in Room 371 West Block, the Chair, Pablo Rodriguez, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Guy André, Françoise Boivin, Jean-Claude D'Amours, Odina Desrochers, Marc Godbout, Yvon Godin, Pierre Poilievre, Pablo Rodriguez, Andrew Scheer and Raymond Simard.

 

Acting Members present: Russ Hiebert for Guy Lauzon.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Royal Canadian Mounted Police: Pierre Lange, Deputy Commissioner, Federal Services; Yves Rainville, Adviser, Career Development and Resourcing, Human Resources. House of Commons: Neal Parker, Director, Security Services, Parliamentary Precinct Services. Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada: Michelle Chartrand, President; Diana Monnet, Vice-President, Official Languages.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f), the Committee commenced consideration of the study on Security during the President Bush visit.
 

Pierre Lange made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 9:35 , the sitting was suspended.

At 9:50 , the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f), the Committee resumed consideration of the study on a Government Report entitled: The next Act: New momentum for Canada's linguistic duality - The Action Plan for Official Languages.
 

Michelle Chartrand made a statement and along with the other witness answered questions.

 

At 11:00 , the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
