The Standing Committee on Health met at 11:22 a.m. this day, in Room 209 West Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Bonnie Brown, Colin Carrie, Hon. Brenda Chamberlain, Jean Crowder, Nicole Demers, Ruby Dhalla, Steven John Fletcher, James Lunney, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield, Michael John Savage and Hon. Robert Thibault.

 

Acting Members present: Gary Goodyear for James Lunney.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing session on the Assisted Human Reproduction Implementation Office.
 

Caroline Weber made a statement and, with Bill Maga, Françine Manseau and Rodney Ghali, answered questions.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, February 14, 2005, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-28, An Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act.
 

Clause 1 carried on division.

 

Clauses 2 to 6 inclusive carried on division severally.

 

The Title carried.

 

The question: "Shall the Bill carry?" was put and was agreed to on the following recorded division: YEAS: Colin Carrie, Brenda Chamberlain, Ruby Dhalla, Steven John Fletcher, Gary Goodyear, Rob Merrifield, Michael John Savage, Robert Thibault — 8; NAYS: Jean Crowder, Nicole Demers, Réal Ménard — 3.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report the Bill, without amendment, to the House.
